How reliable are Enfield 38 revovlers?
I shoot a WW2 Enfield a lot. It was made in 1933 and is in excellent condition. Has anyone had mechanical problems with these? If needed are parts like mainsprings available?

I think they are ok but I'd rather have a S&W Victory.

There are other parts suppliers. I'm not fond of top breaks. Real gunsmiths could make most small parts, gun assembler's not so much.0 -

I can't recollect ever seeing problems with these revolvers. The biggest complaint I know of is the trigger pull. 0 -
They are a long-evolved military service design and are as strong and durable as any revolver built for these applications (probably stronger than most) and given the mild round the .38 S&W is, even with the 200 grain British load, they should last a looong time. 0 -

i can tell you from experience they aren't near as strong as they look,the weak link is the barrel latch, if it lets go under firing the top straps sometimes bend , the webleys although sharing the same design seem to be able to hold up better 0
