They went down hill fast when Cerberus capital bought them. All cerberus ( a hedge fund BTW)gives a chit about is the bottom line. Introduced crap like lean manufacturing into the line, cut customer service down to almost nothing, could care less if they piss off customers. They also tried and may be still trying, to sell off "freedom group" (all the gun companies cerberus owns grouped together)right after sandy hook. Bunch of damn cowards is all they are.

They have done a lot to ruin a once great firearm name, and they aint done yet.

Thanks for follow up. Glad you got your gun back. Maybe when they fail they will be bailed out as Government Rifles which has worked out so well for cars and solar panels.

"but there's now a significant gap between the stock and the receiver".....just to note; there should be a gap there (up to 1/16") if it is over this check to see if they put in 2 recoil plates.

As a NRA member and a favor to Remington CS few years back I attempted reporting a safety issue with the gun when they were making the Remington 700ML which they now are no longer producing due to the safety issue I was attempting to give them a heads up about. The issue could cause the shooter to lose a eye or two using Remington manufactured upgraded ignition system due to the hollow design of the Remington 700 bolt being used with black powder caps.

Not a single response back from their CS dept. (still wonder how many lawsuits were filed and Remingtons settlements fees about the safety issue)
When Rem did not ever answer I was then almost certain they were aware of such and could not reply due to possible liability issues.

I own several of Rem's low maintenance Model 700 bolt action rifles and just thankful that I don't ever have to deal with Rem CS dept and thank god I don't have to attempt using their Sports World authorized repair shop in Tulsa of which I did a on-site check-out few years back about doing free Rem bolt mods to old model Rem 700 bolts and seen thru their BS and did not let them touch any of my artillery.
