I got this with a bunch of parts. I think it is a shell deflector but am not sure. I can't find any markings on it. Any info on what it is and what it goes to will be appreciated! Gunswapper

This is "half" of the blank firing set up for the US GI carbine as made by NWM during the late 1950s and used up until the mid 1960s by the German Border Guards units armed with the Carbine. There is also a muzzle device that locked around the front sight. Not rare but this many years later is probably not as common as they once were.

I can't see how this could be part of a blank firing device. Anyone got any pictures or other info??

It's a shell deflector for an M1/M2 Carbine.. It only works on those that have an adjustable rear sight.. The wire prongs secure it to the sight.. Don't know what originals cost, but here's a reproduction..
