Howa M1 Carbine ???

Ok,,,
I got one ( years ago ) its in the safe , I know a little bit about these and some various stories bout these ??? Just looking for any one with any info / story / ect.

Most of these were imported from Thialand by a Canadian company and then imported into the US by Inter American and import marked as "IA CO SAC CA". They were then sold by a "sister" company Pacific International also located at 2215 J Street, Sacramento, CA. That was probably the biggest batch imported at one time. Has a unique rear sight and bayonet lug system is different otherwise all US GI parts will interchange. Howa also sold some to various police depts but not other military sales. Howa started rebuilding both carbines and M1 Garands after WWII in Japan for the US Army. There are Japanese issue manuals on both US weapons, not common but do turn up.

Have a couple of the Japan marked Howa magazines. No longer have the gun.
