WTK: 1860 Colt Army DOM & any other info
My father picked up a Colt 1860 Army the other day and asked me for some info on it. I knew that I could get some good info here. Looks to me like someone cleaned it up and it has parts from several different guns based on the different serial numbers. Any idea what any of the markings mean and when were the parts manufactured? Any idea of value? Oh yeah, It is locked up and will not cock or turn. Thanks!

The frame & grip strap were made in 1863. The replaced barrel was made in 1862. The cylinder would have had an engraving of a naval battle scene and serial number but it has obviously been severely buffed of all markings.
If it's locked up, it's probably due to a broken internal part, most likely the hand (part #7 below). It could also be something as simple as a percussion cap that dropped into the action but a broken part is more likely.0
