Need Help with Colt 1892 DA Revolver

The problem I am having is explained below pictures. Note part pointed with screw driver.......

I bought this cylinder catch with spring new from "Gun Parts" and spent about an hour fitting it. It works very well without the spring. There are a few problems.
1) I can't put the side plate back on because the spring is in the way.
2) If I could put the side plate on, I think it would not work properly because the spring is pushing in the wrong direction.
It would be really helpful if I could see one of these pistols with the side plate off. If anyone has one of these and can take a few pictures it would be appreciated.
Maybe someone has some insight into these pistols that can help.
Thanks

Pete,
I'm not a Colt mechanic, but, if you can't make that part work, try:
www.Colt parts.com
They are in Vancouver, WA.
I've had really good results buying Colt parts and grips from them.

It's been a "long time" since I had one of those opened up. Have you got a pic of the inside of the side plate? I'm trying to remember if there's a lip the Cylinder stop spring sits on.
Here's some pics that might help:
