HELP IDENTIFYING A CARTRIDGE

    The lug nuts on my quad are 17 millimeter. I know because I had to hunt up a metric socket, to get them off.

    Can't imagine any handgun chambering a 17 millimeter anything. Some wise guys idea of a joke maybe. Lot of this Zombie stuff floating around nowadays. Hornady actually make anti-zombie ammo, in various calibers and gauges.

    17mm is approximately .67 caliber. There are wildcat cartridges with bullets that large in diameter, and larger. Cut down 50 BMG cases are a common parent for wildcat cartridges. The 700 JDJ and 950 JDJ come to mind.

    Never underestimate what a confirmed wildcatter will try.

    AFTE might be a abbreviation for the, "Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners"? If that's what it is? It's probably a souvenir commemorating their 25th anniversary. Not real, just something to use as a paperweight?
