Remington 510 P

Can the rear sight of the Remington 510 P be exchanged for one with a smaller peep hole? If yes, where can I find one? Someone suggested to take the one that is on the rifle and have a gunsmith fill it up and rebore the hole... Thanks

  510's were made from 1939 to 1962. If your insert screws out then there are about 4 more or less common sizes. You need to measure the size and thread pitch and the hole in the one you have.
  
  I have lined holes in inserts that Bubba reamed out with brass tubing (hobby shop stuff).
  
  I have merit iris ones that I really like, fully adjustable hole.
