Walther P-22 Q:
Barrel has a Sleeve with a Notch. That sleeve's notch mates with a Key on the Barrel/Chamber assembly. Nothing prevents the Sleeve from Moving Forward and Disengaging from the Notch? What is the function of the Notch/Key? With Sleeve Forward and rotated so Notch doesn't mate with Key, there is a LOT Less slop in Sleeve and Barrel assembly, relative to Slide. Which is preferred position?
With Things in Sloppy Position, Then the Ramp moves towards the Magazine front edge if it "Wants" to. With the Notch and Key out of alignment, the ramp is held forward nearly 3/32 inch from the other position. I can see how this might change the way the Gun Feeds a Fresh Round.

If none of our folks can help you? You might consider giving the Walther forum on the Rimfire Central site a try. The P 22 is a very popular subject there.
I have had no personal experience with the P 22. My only advice is that if it's in factory original condition, don't mess with it.
Including the P 22, there are a whole other bunch of potmetal .22's coming out of Germany. As I have noted above, if it's factory original and functions satisfactorily, don't push your luck with it.
In my personal experience, in trying to repair an earlier generation German potmetal Luger. The potmetal parts if worn or broken, can only be replaced not repaired.0 -
Thanks, Rufe! Got the answer I needed - allowed me to purchase a Non-Functioning P-22 and using only My hands (and a Bore Brush to clean the Barrel Nut Threads), had it ready to go before I put it back in the case, with Three mags, a Holster, and a Waterproof River Case, all for $100!!! 0 -
