Remington 40X value?
Can anyone tell me what a CMP 40X in 22LR sold for and what value it now holds? Good condition,IIRC Redfield rear, correct front, and a White Line recoil pad,CMP paper and box.Availlable at a local gunshop. Thanks!!

Are you sure that it's not a 541X? Those (& Kimbers) were the only target .22's that CMP had in sufficient quantities to sell at a fixed price, IIRC.
If it's one of the "miscellaneous" .22's they sold, prices varied based on condition, sights, & extras. The price paid will be on the CMP sales receipt.
You should be able to find current "value" from the GB COMPLETED listings.

I paid $400 for mine from CMP without sights. I bought it last year. 0 -
CMP just sold a batch of the 40X rifles with in the last year and some were complete others other in various conditions right down to barreled receiver. There a small bore forum on the web site and lots of the guys own this rifle and you will get a good idea of the value if the question is posed right. Rim Fire Central is another web site that will have the answer to you questions, but you are going to need more information, there were a lot of variations of that rifle created by the manufacture and the military.
