Ruger Mini14 Ranch Site Rail
Has any one used the GG&G site rail on a Mini 14 Ranch Rifle. How reliable is it and how is it for holding heavier optics??
Thanks

I haven't used one, but from an "engineering" perspective, I'd expect it would be even stronger than using just Ruger's rings. You have the rail providing strength between the two anchor points, not "just" the scope tube.
What's being discussed, for those who might not know the subject:

Each to his own, but I would be looking for a different rifle to put heavy optics on, this is a 250-300 yard rifle maybe with the right shooter using a scope. The red dot looks like a lot of fun and is more in line with the name of the rifle "ranch". I have one of these rifles open sights I am lucky at 100 yards to hold a pattern in a twelve inch target. I take it out plinking and have a blast, it use to be cheap and fun now it is fun. Each to his own good luck with the results you get with your Mini.
