Voere Over/Under combination guns

Well, I bought the Voere and it has a two leaf folding rear sight. I tried unsuccessfully to sight it in with the open sights. The only way to get any accuracy out of it is going to be to scope it so I am going to need to find scope bases that will fit the grooved top of the receiver. I checked the width of the top and it measures between .471-.475" which is close to 12mm (.472") so I am pretty sure that the internal groove is 11mm wide or .433".
I will need claw type bases to fit this 11mm groove width so does anyone have any suggestions of where to find them other than modifying a set of Burris bases that are only 3/8", .375" wide?
I am open to any and all suggestions but much prefer to buy the correct width bases to begin with.

    I have my eye on a Voere combination gun in caliber .222 Rem. Magnum and 20 Ga. Magnum that is in real nice condition. It appears to be 100% factory original with all markings being factory, not re-chambered and re-stamped as I have heard was done with some of them in .222 Rem to make them magnums.
    The gun does not carry any importer's marks such as Flaig's of Millvale or any others.
    Any ideas as to value and rarity out there?

    google says it was made in 222 223 and 222 r mag.

    If this is a hammerless made in an over under format configuration. with either single selective trigger or two triggers in very good condition then I would think $750.00 + or - $200.00

    EDIT Hello you don't say how much North of 1K the seller is asking . but in 90 % I feel it may be worth it. You may want to also look at the Valmet model 412 and 512. here on GunBroker. I have three of these over under. and love them. I have 5 sets of barrels From 20Ga over 20 Ga. to 12 GA. sporting clays and up to 9.3 X 74R under 12Ga. 3inch Mag.     Voere combination guns aren't even listed in my Blue Book. Although other models are. Generally high quality, pricy guns.

    If you can provide photos and/or very detailed description of the proof marks. Country of origin and DOM, can be ascertained.

    Lack of importers markings not uncommon, in high quality European sporting arms of that era, circa 50'/60's? Many were brought home by GI's that purchased them on the civilian market, or Rod and Gun clubs. Also possible that it was imported, as a gray market purchase.

    If you could post quality photos, accurate assessment of value, would be more likely.

    EDIT #1, Scope mounts for a Voere that's been out of print for 50 years, aren't going to be a easy find. First thing I would figure out, would be the specific internal dimensions of the claw mount. That attaches to the rifle. Convert those dimensions to their Metric equivalents.

    Give the customer service folks at Brownell's a call. They would have them or know where you could get them, if they are a standard Metric size. If not, your going to have to do what PS did and have them custom made.

    Thanks but I am unable to post any pictures of it. It is for sale and I am thinking of making an offer on it but I feel the asking price is a little on the high side. It is however a high quality item as I can tell and 90% + condition. It is also a very unique item in the way it is cocked and released and it has a single set trigger too. I'd love to have it but I hate to invest over a grand in a turkey gun.

    Several key features to look for in a break open combination gun are , 2 triggers, rimmed cartridge, barrel regulation on the rifle and provision for a return to zero detachable scope mount. Without these your combination can not be all it can be.

    Well I pulled the trigger so to speak on a Voere combo gun (not the magnum model mentioned earlier but a different one in 12 ga/.222 rem) but now I am interested in finding a manual on it as I know they have a unique operating system, cocking method, de-cocking, etc.
    I am also looking for the special scope mounting bases and rings to mount a scope in the future. I understand that the flat top surface has two rails or grooves about 11mm apart for use of claw style bases and no mounting holes drilled and tapped into the top.
    I do not have the gun yet but will in about 1 week or so.
    I appreciate any help out there on these two matters.

    11MM is also what I think is used on the combo barrel sets on the Valmet model 412 They also have a cross rib half moon cutout to keep mount from moving forward or backward This along with a knob allows for quick removal to use the Iron sights . I have two such mounts They are also used on the Valmet military rifles. They look out of place on a combo Over /Under . So I machined a set of Burris STEEL mounts made for the standard 3/8" 22 rim fire grooves. I also incorporated a cross rib lock. This look very good on the over under and has held Zero for over 20 years with Heavy hunting use. Has stood the test of time during fall big game and spring turkey hunting.

    Anyone know where a person can find the operating manual for the Voere combination guns or maybe get a copy of one?

    I have had one of these in .22 mag over 12 gauge for many years. A small quantity (12 or so) in various caliber/gauge combinations were brought in as samples for Sears to market. The deal did not work out. The price point was too high for Sears. None have import marks. would rarely see one for sale. When offered,it would be gun only, no manual, box etc. The quality is very good. Have not shot it much but it has been accurate and reliable. Wishing I had bought some of its brothers when they would show up. Best regards.
