scope ring height for handi rifle

going to put a vintage weaver k-4 on my handirifle and the weaver low rings i have are too low. Do I need to go with the medium or high?

  The specs. are online. Use a shim of known thickness to raise the rings till the scope clears. Look at the specs. then buy the right rings.

  in the past high rings were required. also, depending on the eyepiece, the hammer spur might need inverting.

  I've used medium rings on mine. I like the scope back a little further than most people so I use offset rings, of course that depends on the scope you are using. Put the hammer spur on, you can reach the hammer without it but it is much easier with it.
