Colt "Cowboy" finish
I know the finish isn't case hardened, but it looks like it is. What type of finish is used to achieve this look?

sort of paint with clear coat . Some solvents will remove it.[:(!][V]
EDIT Yes Beretta did the same thing with a single action they sold made by someone Else.[V] Odd thing is they both did sell Nickle finish pistols I normally don't really like nickle but on a single action I like [?][:)]0 -

I have a friend who has one. He HAD to own a Colt but couldn't afford a SAA. The Colt Cowboy IMO is on par with the Uberti's...who probably made the Colt Cowboy's.
The "case colors" on his did look nice eventhough it's not real case colors.0
