I have a lead on a couple of llama .45's. The price I was given was $200 for each. I don't know anything about llama. Was looking for some advice on the weapon. Thanks.

Buy the heavy one, then trim it down until your pistol functions correctly with your loads. With full power springs don't make it a habit of dropping the slide on an empty magazine.

Wolff lists springs for Llamas but I didn't see them for the compact guns. No biggie though as you could use other compact 1911 springs. http://www.gunsprings.com/home

Ammo sensitivity related to the shorter the normal barrel, also might be a factor? My feeling is that most 45 ACP is loaded for optimum effectiveness from a 5" barrel. When you reduce the barrel length by 30%, perhaps you are going to have to compensate, with hotter loads or a heavier bullet? For reliable function.

Another factor might be the Llama? They never had the greatest rep for quality of materials or workmanship. One of the reasons why they are out of business. Might be time to consider getting a replacement.

    Can you show pictures?
It might help us find something that would work.
I'm thinking of a spring listed for Colt OACP with the same length barrel. But the layout and the guide rod matter.
