chamber reamer
Does anyone know of someone who rents chamber reamers seems like in the past I heard of this but can't remembwer who? Any info is appreciated. Terrill

i have a finish reamer that is either 7-08 or 7x57 how do i tell which one it is? it is not marked the front measures.284 i dont know where to measure next ? 0 -

Here's 7mm-08 specs, 
Bullet dia for 7mm-o8 is .284
Here's 7X57,
7X57 bullet dia is .285
It looks like you will have to go by case dimensions.

Using a dial caliper measure the length between the base and the case mouth. The 7mm will be approximately .0200 longer @ 2.244, whereas the 7-08 will be 2.045. 0 -

Measuring the case length will get the right answer. The reamer should be scribed with a mark at the length of the base of the case. The top of the neck or mouth of the case should be obvious. rufe-snow's dimension is off by a decimal place, it should read (0.200)
If all else fails, the neck length on the 7mm-08 is 0.294" while the 7x57 neck length is 0.377" which is similar to the 6mm Remington neck.
