Colt 1911 US Army Identification

Looking for some info on my US army 1911 slide. Im wanting to know if anyone knows the aproximate year it was made and what the various marks on it mean. This is a early model with no serial where the hammer is and it has the rampant colt with no circle on the rear of the slide. This seems to suggest it is within the first 20,000-285,000 manufactured. Im just curious as to its value, year and what any of the other marks mean. Looks to have been refinished at one time.

  It lacks the 1913 patent date, so it was made before mid-1914 and therefore came off a gun between sn 20000 and 84000; early 1913 to mid 1914.
  The H is for inspector Frank Hosmer. I don't know what the 3 beside the disconnector cut means, maybe a Colt sub-inspector.
  
  I won't guess a dollar value. Hard to imagine what a buyer would want a refinished old slide for.

  IMHO, in light of the 1911 patent date, and "uncircled" Colt at the rear of the slide. Your slide would have been on a 1911 made in either 1912 or 13, in the serial range of approximately 20,000 to 84,000?
  
  The Colt finish at that time was a high quality blue. Since yours has been commercially refinished, don't seeing it being of high value.

  Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I knew the refinish would bring the value down, I just wasnt sure how much. Its actually really nice.

  I would think that it would be sought only by someone restoring a refinished mixed parts gun. Considering the damage done by buffing, I would expect it to sell in the $100-200 range.
