GQ! Smith & Wesson Bluing observation
At least to me it appears that S&W has the worst bluing process in the entire gun industry, and I would not send one there for re-bluing. Does anyone know of a reputable company that does a good job bluing older S&W guns? I have two old S&Ws that are in need of some tender loving care. I would like to see a bluing job on the order of Colt's Royal Blue placed on these guns.

I don't have experience with these companies but they were recommended by a S&W forum member (just Google them):
Accurate Plating & Weaponry, The Cogan Custom Shop. | APWCOGAN
Glenrock Blue--Custom Gun Bluing
Doug Turnbull is probably the best but I don't think his shop reblues S&Ws; likely the cost of a new gun if he will take it on.0 -
As I replied to your other thread on this..in case you missed it www.fordsguns.com their Master Blue is a dead ringer for the good old days of S&W. They have photos that show off their work. Turnbull is good too but he is going to be a lot more expensive. 0 -

I have experience with APW- Bob Cogan. They do some of the best I've seen on the ones done for me [^]0 -

I have an old Model 15 and 27 that have minor rust areas. I would like to put them back to pristine shape again. They are spot on shooters. It sounds like you highly recommend Cogan.0
