spanish or brazilian military grip question
ok, once again I have to go to the experts! what I have is what looks to be a set grips for a military version of a beretta 96 centurion? much wider than my 92. I would think that they are either Spanish or Brazilian? medalion in the grips has a ribbon, I guess you can say around the bottom of a shield, which has a standing lion in the middle and one on the top of it. or could be a horse? they are in great shape. please let me know, thanks, ralph

Meanwhile, I *did* help you. . .by pointing out what I think you'll need to do to maximize chances of getting a real opinion on what you have. The people who read this forum are "experts". . . they're not "psychics", and you'll probably get a better response without requiring guesswork.
You say your grips have a lion on them. Do they look like this?

Its not hard.
1. Upload picture to public image hosting site (eg photobucket, etc).
2. Find link to picture, then enclose in "img" tags (ie like this, but with ordinary "square" brackets, not "curly" ones):

Seriously, while a number of Latin countries have issued Berettas for military use (including Mexico and Columbia), it seems implausible to me any of them actually issued blingy custom grips for service use.
Its not at all implausible that what you have are some custom grips, and for all anybody knows they may be decades old one-offs, meaning the chance of a positive ID of the maker is slim. Again, your best bet is to post some pix.0 -

By any chance could they be Pachmayr's? The brass medallion has a lion on it.
There are instructions for posting photos in our sticky list, that's on the top of our home page. It's a lot easier and faster to identify things through photos, rather then playing guessing games.0 -
