Any information on the history, source, quality of Roy Vail shotgun barrels?

  It is unlikely that the barrels were made by Roy. While he was a talented gunsmith, making shotguns barrels, especially SxS or Superposed is usually reserved for specialists and factories.
  
  Roy's main claim to fame was his engraving and stocking so his signature on the engraving might lead you to believe that he 'made' a certain firearm.
