Forend lugs for single shot barrels
I've got a few Savage 94 barrels that the forend lug came off of, and is no longer present. Anyone have a source for these? Think they are all the screw on type.

I would guess they were high temp silvered on. Chances are you will be making the parts either way. 0 -
Maybe i should have clarified. The lugs do not seem to be available anywhere. They were welded or silver soldered on the barrels at manufacture. i was wondering if there was any easy way to make them, and more importantly, attach them to the barrel. But i guess just find a threaded coupler, grind to fit, and silver solder it on will be my best bet. 0 -
Silver solder is the easy way. It works at red heat, so no clamping force or your barrels will crush/warp. The flux will eat the blue, so plan for a reblue. Practice a few time on a scrap barrel/tube first.
Find some mild steel the right thickness. Hacksaw/Dremel the lug out. Radius the contact area on a correct sized pipe covered with sand paper. The pictures I looked at made the lugs to be made out to rectangular not cylindrical stock.0 -
you might be able to use something like this along with a new screw or you could try asking them for assistance, they used to be good people to deal with and very helpful.
