Weaver K-6 problems.

Yesterday I tried to zero in my .220 Swift at 25 yards in my backyard range preparatory to taking it to the range and zeroing it in at 100 yards. I found that the K-6 while unused for several years had apparently taken a "set" on the windage adjustment and it was off two inches to the right and would not move. All efforts to get it to move were unsuccesful. This included tapping lightly on the windage dial. Are there other methods of correcting this?

The Model 70 when I bought it came with Redfield Jr. mount which can be used to adjust the windage, but would entail backing out the left hand screw and screwing in the right hand screw which would move the objective lens to the right. Would this be a hit and miss chore or is there any rule about how much X turns of R or L screw changes point of impact.?

  YOU MIGHT TRY LOOSTENING THE HIEGHT ADJ. SLIGHTLY (MAY BE NEAR BOTTOMED OR TOPED OUT AND BINDING THE LATERAL ADJ., AS FOR THE RED. BASES; IT'S TRIAL & ERROR, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. i';D TRY 1/2 ROTATION OF THE REAR SCREW TO START.

  Might try carefully heating it with a hair dryer. It might loosen up if you put some direct heat on the windage adjustment.
  
  Those adjustment screws on the Redfield mount are just a rough trial and error proposition. You might run across some math major einstein who could figure the amount of movement from the TPI, but it wouldn't be me.

  Good ideas. The hair drier had crossed my mind. Will give that a try, also will back off that vertical adjustment dial a tad. If that doesn't sork will take the mount adjustment a quarter turn at a time. Its a good old scope, has taken several coyotes and redtails (when they were legal) and would like to get the gun/scope ready for this winter. Thanks for the suggestions.
