17 wsm vs 17 hornet

I 'm cultivating an interest in the new savage 17 wsm rim fire and the 17 hornet. I have not read any tests or comparisons between the two cartridges. Do any of our resident experts have any input here. I am writing to Gun Tests magazine with an inquiry.

  The main question you need to answer for yourself is: Am I going to want to reload? The .17 Hornet can be reloaded and that drives the price per round down significantly - of course you work for free and that is a large part of the savings.

  62fuelie, is right in line, but I can add more.
  
  The 17 WSM rimfire, puts you at the mercy of the ammo producer's. What if this round does not fly? We have had two 17's introduced within the last 10 years that have fizzled...one rimfire, and one ceenterfire. Those would be the Hornady 17M2, and 17 Remington Fireball, respectively.
  
  At least with the 17 hornet, brass can be formed and fireformed from the 22 Hornet, where cases are plentiful. That said, with the price, and possible restrictions, that are most likely forthcoming on reloading components, the price of the reloading, does not offset the price of factory ammunition, by as much as one would think, these days.
  
  So, it is six of one, and a half dozen of the other.

  Thanks for your input. Did some research and learned the 17 hornet cranks it out to 3600 fps shoots flatter and in addition more rifles may be chambered for it.
