Remington 121

My son has a 121 that has the rear sight removed and a scope mounted. the gun has the two rear sight mount screw holes plus just to the left and below the sight screw holes is another hole. Had a guy tell me the extra hole was for a peep sight. It is not located in the right spot for a scope. Can anybody tell what the hole would be use for?

  Could someone please let me know the correct butt plate for this gun? I own one that has an old, dry rotted red rubber White Line that I assume was not original and would like to replace it. Thanks

  The King tang peep for models 12, 121 and 25 only used the two holes in the receiver. The third is a wood screw hole for Lyman and Marbles sights.
  It doesn't look good with that hole in the stock minus the sight.
  You could make up a slotted, headless wood screw to fill in the hole.
