Hard to say? The rifle is 86 years old, and might have been used in 3 wars and a dozen battles? Up until recently M-N's were brought in by the container load, as combloc surplus from Eastern Europe. Most were arsenal refinished. Being a pre 91/30 from Izhevsk arsenal, might increase it's collectors value though?0 -
thanks much..bore is good ..sling ..oil can and pouch + bayonet..gonna try to get 250 local 0 -
Those are the markings for a Model 91 Dragoon Rifle. The square under the hammer and sickle is for a refurb/refit, probably done in the early 30's where it was possibly made into a Model 91/30. Need pics of the whole rifle to tell. Is it in a solid wood stock, or laminate? 0 -

The days of cheap Mosins is gone. Fortunately, cheap surplus ammo is still available, buy it by the double spam can crate
$250 for a Hex receiver ex-Dragoon in that shape with accessories is a good price. If this is your first one, it won't be the last.[;)]0 -
Mosin-Nagant equals good! 0 -
All right; I know this is nit-picky but I cringe every time I hear "hex receiver"! My M-N has an eight sided receiver. That's octagon or oct, if you prefer. Are there actually 6-sided M-N receivers or is "hex" just "You know what I mean" for octagon? Incidentally, the price sticker is still on my long ago purchased M-N. It reads 79.95. 0 -
3 Flats on top, 2 curved sides, 1 bottom side that's flat. That is six sides total, therefore a hex sided receiver. I paid 39.95 each for my first 3 M91 Mosin-Nagants at the local Roses store. Stll have them and a "few" more. 0
