.38 spec blank load

Looking to find a recipe for .38 spec blanks with smokeless powder. Looking for noise only.

Information is always appreciated.

  Has far as I know, blanks need to use black powder. Even the fastest smokeless powders will not burn well at such low pressures.
  You will need a paper wad or some such to place over the powder. This means that the wad will be fired out of the gun.
  Best would be the .22 blanks and a starting pistol.
