WHERE ARE THE 4" REDHAWK 44 MAGS?

Where are the 4" Redhawk's in 44 mag? Ruger quit making this model?

    They are still listed on Ruger's website, but they are actually 4.2 inches. There is one on the auction side, that is in 45 Colt. Therre used to be quite a few on the auction side, but they are missing now. Must be a pretty hot item. I did see a few 5 1/2 inch older Redhawks over there.

    I don't think I have ever seen a 4". Those 2" Alaskan ones sure look like a handful. Wrist snap and muzzle blast should be awesome.

    I've already checked the 'other side' no 4", 44mag Redhawk. The 'custom' model is nice and prolly is a 4" with the barrel shaved on the sides, then crowned.

    Don't think so. As mentioned Ruger does still list them in their catalog (its catalog number KRH-444 model 5026) and website.

    I just think they're just not that common. I think in a .44 magnum most people either want a "Dirty Harry" long barrel for hunting/silhouette shooting, or a really short one for up close bear/personal defense. 4" is a reasonable length for a "pure" defense gun, but very few people choose a .44 magnum for that.

    Anyway, a 4" bbl .44 magnum guns sold on the auction site in April for $850. I'm sure if you keep watching, another one will turn up for sale eventually.

    Also, you can go through Ruger's website and they'll let you order one through one of their dealers, though that may mean paying the full MSRP.

    Can you live with a custom 3.75" bbl gun instead? I think I could live with this particular one:

    (Edit, whoops, just noticed someone else posted the same link above. . .its a very nice looking gun, I must say!). Obviously, you could buy a gun with a longer barrel and have it custom cut to any length you wanted, though I certainly wouldn't do it just to recreate a stock factory model!

    If you have any flexibility with barrel length, there are also 2 different 5.5" bbl ones currently listed on the auction site.
