    THIS EXPLAINS IT ALL!!
Don't understand it but if I had to guess I would guess it is the inaccuracy of the MOA adjustments in the scope. If it is supposed to be .25 MOA per click and is off that measurement by even a small margin it could account for several inches at over 8 football fields away.

or was he using MOA on his drop chart, but the scope adjustments were in inches?

Humid air is lighter that dry air?
    Really?
Warm air is lighter than cold air, and I expect humidity would make the air even heavier.
