i have a marlin 18 shot 990 semi-auto that doesnt feed the 1st round. after i get it chambered the rifle fires the other 17 rounds, sometimes. i found the feeder throat had a burr on it. is there a way to get in there to hone it down smooth? i searched the web but could only find a 4 lug feeder throat @ Brownells. mine's a 3 lug. does anyone know of a solution to this problem? i'd appreciate the info. thanx

  I would think a Dremel tool with a small stone on low speed would work. Maybe crocus cloth on a stick.

  thanks for the response. what grit of crocus would u suggest?

  Burrs usually polish off easily, so fine will work. A piece of 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper glued to a shaped stick. Popsicle sticks are easy to shape.
