M7 Scopes

So what can the experts tell me about these? My Googlefu is weak on this subject so far.

  IIRC... that the scopes from the 37mm M1A1 cannon. But I think they were used as a sighting aid on just about any gun bigger than the 20mm.

  The gun that used that scope was marked the M3, when the scope was installed it was the M6.
