One can never have too many books .But I for one would Buy Bert H's book instead MADIS book has too many errors.

I think your right, this one says 1st edition but has 4 or 5 copy right dates in the front, the first 1961, the last being 1977, plus I'm not one that gets worked up & impressed over autographs either. Something just does'nt add up to me. I'm passing on it. Thanks [;)]

I am sure you could get a copy, with an authentic autograph, of "The RED BOOK of WINCHESTER values, An Investment Opportunity", for that amount. It will also have the correct information in it, too. I would pass on the Madis version.

It may well be a first edition, I am not sure there were more, but it seems to be a fourth or fifth printing, Even with the Madis autograph, it is not really an investment, it will decline in value, because the book contains mant factual errors. Renneberg for the '94, The Red Book edited by that Hartman guy for the rest.

The Red Book has the factual info that Madis doesn't, costs a lot less, and even if Bert autographs it for you, it's still a better value.[:)]

I have my autographed copy of Bert's book, love it!

unfortunately, the autograph alters the 'original' condition of the book, and lowers its value to collectors. Still, as a 'shooter' it is a valuable asset.[}:)][:p]
