Look where the extension meets barrel, on the side of the extension, directly under the gas adjuster. You'll see a thin flat key (part #4) with a slot in it. Drive it out left to right. Note the hole in the center of it when you have it out. That is the hole the gas has to traverse from barrel to piston, so it has to be centered when re-installed.
Then the extension unthreads off the end of the barrel. I'm thinking it was left hand threaded too, I'll double check that for you to make sure.

The "nut" on the end of the brake is LH thread, extension and barrel threads are right hand.

Thank you Trap. I never expected an answer with photos. I have the wedge out & am soaking the extension threads. [:)]

I have to ask, why did you need to pull it off?
From all the corrosive ammo that's been through it, it's probably on there pretty snug and you don't want to tweak it. You want to grab it right over the key slot to turn, nowhere else!
An old leather glove works good to pad the jaws on a big pipe wrench(only thing I had to get on it), and a dead blow hammer to tap the handle.
What kind of shape is your gas piston and cylinder in?

Thanks Trap55, Just wanted to give it a good cleaning & check it out completely. No corrosion & the gas port is clean. I'll send more info via email.
