Remington 1100 barrel
I'm not real familiar with 1100's and am wondering if anyone out ther knows if a 20 gauge slug barrel marked lt20 (light20) will work on an 1100 20gauge that is just marked 20gauge 2 3/4".Thanks in advance, Ed

I have Remington 1100 in 12 ga, with 3" Magnum chamber.
Now I've got a 1100 barrel in 12 ga, but with 2-3/4" chamber.
Is it safe to exchange the barrel and would it shoot and cycle 2-3/4" shells.

No it will not work as the ejection port is not long enough to eject the empties. The receiver is different on 3" guns, hovever you can go the opposite way and put a 2 3/4 barrel on a 3' receiver and normally will work fine except with lite loads. 0 -
Most gunsmiths should be able to mill the ejection port out enough to let a 3" shell eject properly. 0 -

WRONG!!!!!!!! The receivers are IDENTICAL!!! except for the roll marked "MAGNUM"on the side... The whole difference is in the depth of the chamber in the barel , and the location of the ejector(the little tit on the barrel extention).....The ejection ports are Identical....

I put a 3" barrel on my 1100 several years ago. It works fine with 2 3/4 magnum and lighter weight 3" ammo. It has one gas port and will not function with standard 2 3/4" shells. You can fire them one at a time and manually eject the empty. 0
