Winchester Date of Manufacture?

Hi, Experts. Info. I had on the Model 12 shotgun said serial numbers 718503 to 752436 = made in 1937. Is this still true? I think I got this info. from this forum awhile back, but I know things change as new info. becomes available. Thanks for your input. Jim

  The serial number range you mention is not correct for the year 1937. Serial 718503 is a 1935 vintage gun. The last serial number in 1937 was 788635.

  Year ending serial number for 1937 was 788635, there where 39,206 model 12s manufactured that year.
  This information is found in the latest edition of The Red Book of Winchester Values, by Larry Shennum and Bert Hartman.
  Buy your self a copy, you'll be glad you did.
