Browning Gold cleaning
My wife's Lady Gold builds up a "baked on" powder residue on the magazine tube. Currently I clean it off with solvent and a fine brass brush, which is a real PITA. Since I can't talk her into a nice O/U, does anyone have a fast and good method for that area?
I have tried several different powders and several different factory loads, with the same result (best was with 700X). I know that's part of owning a semi-auto shotgun (I have owned many in the past for my kids), but there's got to be an easier way.
And no, there's not a chance she will give up the gun since it's fitted to her, ported, extra recoil reducer, and oversize recoil pad. A baby could shoot that gun. And she won't clean it, it's part of the deal to get her shooting with me (which isn't a bad deal).

rubber glove, Hoppe's #9 solvent, and a WHITE Scotch Bright pad. The WHITE is very important...they are the least aggressive of the White, Red or Green pads. Followed by a wipe off, then a light wipe on with Break Free CLP.

Kroil paper towel wrapped and kept wet on the area it will not harm finish but after a few hours all deposit will WIPE OFF 0 -
Thanks Karl, I was thinking about doing that (the smell will be bad). I have used the solvent/white pad method, which worked fine on my son's 1400 and 5500, but doesn't seem to touch this stuff (spring vs. gas I guess). Never had this type issue on my old 1100's.
I haven't found much that Kroil won't remove if you soak it long enough. Can't wait to hear her complain about the smell. I just can't win.0
