which 1911 mag?
Thinking I need new mags for my Taurus 1911 for my cast bullets. The ones I got work with jacketed bullets, but jam up on my home grown ones.
My dad has an old nice nickel mag that seems to work perfectly, but I don't think that kind are available any more.
Any suggestions?

It might not be the Mags. It might be the feed ramp. 0 -
I'll second that, check the feed ramo.

Doubt it. Jacketed rounds do just fine, plus the nickel mag tested fed perfectly.0 -
Buy a Chip McCormick. Most 1911's don't have a feed ramp (maybe yours does?). If your round drops into the chamber it's not the round. You can also bend the feed ramp of the mag to assure the proper angle. This is not uncommon for a 1911.

I was going to suggest the check and compare the followers of each to see what angle the cartridges were being feed into the chamber. 0 -

don't know about the follower angles, but I noticed that the lips on the nickel mag are more pronounced, indicating a more controlled feeding?0
