Name that Bayonet Game

Saw this bayonet at an auction preview and was wondering how old it is and who made it. I suppose it could be a harpoon tip too. It has a "48" stamped on it.

  It's a Italian bayonet. They were used on both cavalry carbines and youth training rifles. If it is a original one off one of the training rifles, it could be worth a pretty penny.

  World War II era. Some were reworked Model 1891 rifles, others were purposely built as cavalry carbines.

  I am impressed you were able to recognize it, and the gun it came off of. Now I understand it is a folding type. Here is a whole gun for $250.
