OK; So I bought a Davis 380; need some help
So I bought a small pile of guns, and did not check this one the besr I could have, but I'd like some leads on parts;
Been to numrich; looking for firing pin/ cocking indicatot, FP spring, and who knows else, when I get in there...:BTW; how do you get in there: I;E; dissambly procedure.

I wouldn't be putting any money in it, unless you can get the required parts very inexpensively.
I've been stuck with basket cases in the past, with the needed parts unobtainable, at reasonable prices. Because everybody is trying to get their hands on the same parts, that go South.
Wait for the local gun buy back. You will probably be able to score a $50 gift certificate for it from the local libs. You'll be way ahead of the game, and be able to laugh your butt off at them.0 -
I had one and it was a very good shooter for about 1000 rounds. Then the firing pin broke. To disassemble, using a pencil (eraser side) push the slide catch in ( the silver button on the back of the slide) and pull up on the slide. Then pull the slide back and away from the frame. Watch out for flying springs. The slide catch kept breaking on mine. I figured the gun was worn out. Traded it to a buddy who was sure he could fix it. He never did. Numerich had parts for it then but that was 10 years ago. 0 -
Check a Davis owners site for leads..or if there are no by-backs in your area see if Numrich will buy it from you for parts. I'll be worth more this way than assembled anyday. 0 -

IIRC the firing pin spring also holds the catch in place. Taking the pistol apart with the striker cocked often results in launching this spring and the catch to some dark corner of the shop. Push the catch forward(toward the muzzle) and lift up on the back of the slide. Then push the slide forward off the frame. The striker spring is a common coil spring so may be found @ Brownells. I substitued a hardware store spring. 0 -

BTW, did I say I DID NOT SPEND A Million bucks for it??????????
I think I'll send it to numrich or do the buyback thing.
