Kel-Tec PF-9 is this normal?

    I would try different Ammo and see what happens.

    Winchester told me a few years ago that if I was having problems with their Ammo...Go buy something else! [:0][V]

    From your photo the extractor doesn't appear to be correctly mounted in the slide. It should engage the rim of the cartridge giving it some support, with the slide all the way forward in what is called "battery" position.

    It almost appears the front portion of the extractor is missing? Perhaps when the cartridge head failed, it took the forward portion of the extractor off, with it?

    +1 looks like the extractor is broken or not installed correctly. Maybe the extractor spring broke or launched into orbit?

    Thanks for the advice, gentlemen. From looking at a pdf of the parts diagram, it appears that the extractor is missing. It may have never been installed--if that's possible. The gun is on it's way back to the distributor. It sounds like they will probably just send a new one.
