Savage Sporter question

I just picked up a Savage Sporter in 25-20 cal. I know this is makes it a model 23B. It has the earlier style magazine. When were these made?

If you can obtain a copy of Frank de Haas's book "Bolt Action Rifles". He has a extensive section on the Savage BA rifles, made between the wars. According to him the last B's were assembled and sold, just after the end of W W II.

However, these used a different magazine than the ones or your rifle's era.

Years ago Triple K made after market mags for the older version. I have one in original wrap marked 614 for my 23B or C. I also have a Savage marked mag for the newer version that will not fit either of my rifles.
