32 Long Colt "IS NOT"the same as 32 S&W the Colt has long been out of the normal product production, For both firearms and ammo company. There used to be a great little Marlin Pump rifle that came with two different firing pins one for 32 Rimfire Short and Long for use with one firing pin and 32Colt short & 32Colt Long for the other firing pin . The case for the colt is smaller in Diameter and 32 S&W will not fit the tube magazine. or Chamber. If on the other hand you have a pistol that is a Revolver chambered for 32 Colt you may find a gunsmith that could open up the cylinder chambers to fit 32S&W. BE aware if you do this you will be shooting a gun with UNKNOWN safety limits. EDIT Thanks Mike yes I had a model 1891. I think
I bought it to shoot SSAS but ammo availability and the fact SSAS would not approve it Took me to other path Colt Lightnings that are PUMPS [:I]0 -
This place may be able to help you http://www.gadcustomcartridges.com/I think Winchester once in awhile still does a limit run of 32 short colt. Found some short colt on auction side http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=337129447 0 -
As a kid I got to play with one of those selectable rifles. Was an ok design, but I think it was underpowered for anything tougher than a rogue picket pen at 50 feet.
Good catch Mike I remembered it as a lever action but it was nearly 50 years ago.0 -

According to the "Cartridges of the World" book, they are the same other than length.0
