Walther PPK issue

It could be a number of things, from unpolished feed ram to the technique you use to pull the slide.
What's important is that once the chamber is loaded it functions flawlessly when being fired.
How does it work when shooting?
I will wager it works 4.0.

It's difficult to tell from your description exactly where the problem is. The Interarms/US guns are not as well finished as the "made in Germany" guns, so it may just need tweaking by a gunsmith.

Is your ammo FMJ? Are the mags stamped with the Walther logo? Have you replaced the recoil spring? Have you removed the slide & cleaned thoroughly? Have you smoothed the slide/frame contact area with a mild abrasive & lubed?

Could be lots of things. Is it brand new in the box or well used that maybe Bubba got to.

Have you tried some different ammo, a different magazine, taken it apart to look for burrs, crud, correct assembly.

Does the slide work correctly without mag, with empty mag, with only one round, with one less than full.

Does the follower move freely the full length of the mag?

I had one of these pistols that would not function and the guy had taken it to a gun smith and it still did not function. I took the weapon down as far as I could and soaked it in cleaner and blew it out with high pressure air. I polished the ramp being careful not to take any material and looked for material that may have gotten missed. I polished all of the contact areas very lightly looking for burs being careful not to remove any material. The first time I fired the gun it functioned flawlessly, when it went to the range I handed it to the owner he did not believe it would work, did rapid fire with two magazines and was very happy. Short story the weapon was dirty and was causing the malfunctions. Ball ammo is a good idea also in a weapon that will is not functioning well but your weapon should functions with other than ball ammo.

Bought a PP (same mechanism) several years ago on GB & slide wouldn't close completely. Turned out Bubba had installed the firing pin backward. Turned it around and it was good to go.

Upon closer examination, I found that the ejector is bent to the point that the slide won't cycle normally. When I removed the ejector the slide function was flawless. I have ordered another ejector and spring and will go from there once they are received. The firearm is quite clean and yes the mags are of Walther manufacture. Thank you gentlemen for your input regarding this issue. [:)]

I broke a PPKS ejector and found it was an investment cast part.
It was new and Intermco replaced it. The same happened with a 7.65 Interarmco Mauser made Parabellum but on a firing pin tip and firing pin retainer which were also cast.
