H & R "22 Special" second variation?
I am trying to date my H & R "22 Special" sn 53679X. It has the 'saw handle grips' 9 shot non rimmed cyl so is it second variation? My library has the 32.nd BB and it shows 95% at $255. Any significgant change in new BB?

It appears to be factory original and in excellent condition. You need better close up photos with indirect light, (NO FLASH on Camera), to verify this though.
Many of the 22 Special, target pistols are found in excellent condition. The sights with the tapered gold bead front and teeny "V" notch rear are absimal to use. Why they even made them when, S & W and Colt were making target guns with Patridge type sights, in the same time frame is a mystery?0 -
Yes it is in good condition but I want to confirm it is circa 1928 -1930 second variation with a current approximate BB value.
I do not intend to sell it only confirm current value as I do this every second year for my home insurance rider for firearms I had erroneously reported it was as Sportsman.

where are you going to find one for B.B. value it is like saying I have a 57 Chevy . it could be worth XXX dollars you fill in the blanks. Talk to your insurance agent . My insurance allows me to insure my Items. "Cars .Jewelry.Firearms etc at stated value. I have some things I could go our and replace this afternoon but others that are not available on the open market or match guns I built and won metals with . I sold one couple weeks ago not as good as yours for $330. I have another one like yours, EXC, I expect to get a little more for. 0 -

I have the same revolver 55225x and was told by the forum members that this is the second variation made between 1928-1930. 0
