12guage s&w 916a shotgun advice
I'm looking to buy my first shotgun. So I thought a used one wouldn't be a bad idea .
The local pawn shop has this 916 ....200$ out the door. Wood on it is in ok shape , bluing is pretty bad with a few spots with surface rust . Should I pass or buy?

PASS. Junk. Find a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870 Express for about the same money and have a GOOD gun. 0 -
+1! In the early 70's, S & W decided to start selling shotguns. They bought a U.S. company by the name of Nobel who made them. They then sold the Nobel shotguns under their name for a year. They were such a POS, they couldn't give them away.
Take duckhunters advice, get a Mossberg or a Remington.0 -
Total junk for 200 that's way way too much. 0 -
I've picked up older 870 Wingmasters in the $200-$250 range. Most were in better condition than you describe the S&W is in.
Also, bust a slide bar on the S&W and you're pressed to find a replacement. Not so with the 870.0 -
Ok thanks everyone 0 -
Just to confirm,,,probably one of the worst guns ever made- 0
