S&W K-22 date of manufacture

Anyone have an Idea of the date of a Smith and Wesson K-22?? It is a 5screw, with a serial Number of 198XXX.
Any help would be appreceiated.

  Can anyone give me a year of manufacture on a S&W K22 ser#737XX.

  Assuming there is a "K" ahead of the numbers, it was made in early 1949.

  Yes, there is a K preceding it, it was off to the side.
