.30 Caliber AP/API Ammo

I was recently searching for surplus (USGI) ammo for my M1 Garand and started coming across several people/websites selling .30-06 M2 AP (black tip; Lake City) ammo, M2 API (silver/white tip; Lake City) ammo, loose .30-06 AP ammo, loose .30-06 API ammo, and .30 caliber "Raufoss" bullets for reloading (some on GunBroker.com; without the characteristic silver/white tip; http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=335090543

I know that Raufoss is Norwegian made ammo but what I am not sure of is if there was ever any .30 caliber true Raufoss rounds ever made and if there was, was there ever a defense contract for them to be used in the U.S. during WWII or Korea. I realize that some of this people may be referring to any API ammo as "Raufoss" by default or for name recognition. I live in a state where these rounds are legal to own/possess. Does anyone have any experience when comes to purchasing any of these type of rounds so that I am not wasting my money?

  Point 1, Raufoss is normally APIT (Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracer).
  Point 2, the 30cal Raufoss bullets were for the 7.62, NOT the 30cal (7.62 NATO vs 30cal which is the designation for the 30-06)
  Point 3, the "Raufoss" designation is often (usually?) hype (IE not real/fake).
  
  The right hand 50 BMG is a real Raufoss round (9th from the left)

  If were to feed a Grand these days I would load for it. GI ammo is getting old let alone hard to find and hard to tell prior storage conditions. I have shot tons of AP and Tracers, only a few incendiary. You could load better ammo, cheaper than you can buy.
