Ruger pistol date of manufacture
I have a .22 lr Ruger pistol, serial number 408105. Which model is it and when was it manufactured? 95% blue, one magazine, what is the approximate value? Thanks in advance! Gunswapper

There is a serial number vs date chart on the Ruger.com site.
"you have a ruger MKI 1966"
That's what the chart says.
I see they do not show anything for the Ruger Standard.
Perhaps they do not have anybody there old enough to remember back when those guns were actually being made and are calling everything made before 1982 a Mk I. Which is not correct. A Mk I was ONLY the target model with heavier barrel and adjustable sights. Fixed sights and skinny barrel were the Standard Model.
They let that distinction slide with the Mk II and now Mk III, but they can't (or shouldn't) change history.0 -

Early Ruger .22 pistols, manufactured prior to the late 60's were serial numbered in one series. Even though their were two distinct models.
The Mark I target, and the Standard model with fixed sights. Their values are different. This is why we need the photos.0 -

Because I have a book that list sn range by model for all rugers.
