700 Mountain riifle, Old or new model?

I have a Model 700 Mountain rifle in .270 caliber with the floorplate like a BDL. I need a new black forend tip for the stock. Numrich Arms has them, but only for the "new" model. How can I tell if mine is the "Old" or "New" model? Thanks for any help.

  Thanks. Mine is the older model. Guess I'll try Remington or make one myself. White would look different but then I'd have to make a gripcap, too. Wish I had a piece of ivory.
