Mother of Pearl Grips - Colt 1908 380 - Factory?

I can add pictures but am not sure they're needed in this case. I have a Colt 1908 (1928 or 1929) with original nickel finish (original,in my opinion anyway) with mother of pearl grips. As I remember, the prevous owner said they were factory grips but there is no Colt medallion. So, question for the Colt experts is, did Colt ever provide pearl grips for the 1908 from the factory without Colt medallions? I've seen opionions both ways but don't have an authoritative source; does anyone know for sure? Thanks much.

  The only SURE way is with a Colt Letter

  Colt letter, but if they are not real mop, from that era, I would bet the ranch they are not factory original.

  Just going by what I've read, Colt did use medallionless pearl grips on the 1908 up til April of 1911. After that the pearls came with Colt medallions.
