contender vs. g2
What is the deal on these? I know there is a difference as to when the firing system gets (re)cocked, but what about barrel changes? Can a "original" Contender use G2 barrels? Or only G2 can use both G2 barrels and "classic" barrels?
Thanks

The barrels are interchangable. However, there is a difference (or can be) in the forend screw location which requires the correct forend for that particular barrel. Also, a forend for a octagon barrel will not fit a round barrel. 0 -

The above is true...
Additionally, among the barrels offered there are chamberings (Read: Designed/ENGINEERED) for the G2 -which is more robust- that the original Contender frame should not be subjected to (Read: the original Contender was not designed to accomodate some of the higher pressure loadings)
Also, you may encounter barrels from Bullberry (for example) which will not "inter-change"/fit very well, as opposed to factory Contender barrels.0 -
I think the grip angle is different and they wont swap out. 0 -
I had to send my "Old" contender back to TC to
have all the extra barrels I bought fitted.0 -
THE OLDER CONTENDERS HAD A MUCH BETTER TRIGGER, THE NEWER G-2'S CAN HANDLE 'HOTTER' CARTRIDGES. 0
